Names of Baltic movies at Fajr International Film Festival anounced

‘Exiled’ from Latvia, ‘The Chronicles of Melanie’ a joint production from Latvia, Czech Republic and Finland, ‘Dream Team 1935’ from Latvia, ‘King’s Shift’ a joint production from Latvia and Lithuania, ‘The Excursionist’ from Latvia, ‘The Spy and the Poet’ from Estonia and ‘In the Crosswind’ from Estonia will represent Baltic cinema at the festival.

The selected pictures either have a historical perspective or illustrate the modern social life of their respective countries. The seven films were selected out of 38 submitted movies from Baltic countries.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
